Music has many functions - from Plato to recent times, philosophers and social commentators have ascribed it moral significance
as well as recognising its role to amuse, soothe, rouse, entertain, comfort and delight. Our aim as musicians is to
bring as many of these facets as possible to our performances to the widest possible audience, and this means becoming involved
in as many opportunities as possible. Our regular performances include:
Private and public recitals
Lunchtime Recitals in churches and cathedrals
Fundraising functions promoted by ourselves or others for local or global causes
Solos and appearances for choral society concerts
Weddings and family functions
Our programmes typically include art songs from England, France, Germany and America, folk songs from around the world, excerpts from
opera and oratorio, and organ or piano solos to suit the programme. The extent of our involvement ranges from performing as part of
an organised event to doing much of the organising ourselves, or helping others with our experience of promotion, publicity and planning.
